The educational development programme offers teacher training for vocational and higher education institutions. It also provides a degree in the industry suitable for current and future needs in Uruguay. Development of technical education throughout the country, with an emphasis on rural populated areas, is a key objective. The scalability of this development programme is achieved through a blended learning scheme, supported by a digital platform.

Eduardo Pereyra, Executive Director of INEFOP, states, “Through this education development programme we intend to motivate young people to acquire the skills needed for economic transformation in their local area. The EduExcellence team really understood our challenge, and by using innovative co-creation methods was able to provide an attractive and feasible solution for our needs”.

The National Administration of Public Education in Uruguay (ANEP) will have an important role in this education development programme, as ANEP will work with pilot institutions, as well as professionals who will be upskilled. Wilson Netto, President of ANEP, states, “It is not just about the developing educational content; the fact that we will have a digital tool for blended teaching will open up opportunities for further development within public institutions in Uruguay in the future. We chose EduExcellence due to its pedagogical focus and the positive experience using it among these three universities of applied sciences.”

Tuija Pulkkinen, CEO of EduExcellence Ltd., notes out that the featured development programme is unique. Founded in 2017, the company has gained a foothold in China and South Africa, in addition to Latin America. EduExcellence represents the different areas of expertise that Haaga-Helia, Laurea and Metropolia Universities of Applied Sciences provide to global markets. The complexity of the offered solutions testifies to the capabilities and expertise of EduExcellence’s shareholders.

“The world is changing fast and we need to therefore develop education to fit future needs. It is our mission to create a sustainable development impact in our clients’ societies. We are honoured, along with our three shareholder universities, to be selected as strategic partners for a very ambitious national education development project,” says Tuija Pulkkinen.
