Trainings

Women over 50: take a survey and join a free AI training

Do you want to learn how to use AI in your daily work and network with peers? The free AI training, taking place in spring 2026, is aimed at women over 50 working in office roles who want to update their skills.

After completing the training, you will receive a higher education-level certificate to validate your skills in the workplace. The training is organized by the FinEstAI project, Haaga-Helia, and Estonian Business School.

Please also respond to our survey, in which we collect AI experiences from women over 50 working in HR, IT, finance, and assistant roles, as well as experts supporting knowledge work functions.

Your answers will help us tailor the training to meet the real needs of women working in support functions.

Knowledge retired?

In the Knowledge Transfer 55+ project, we explore how artificial intelligence can be utilised to capture the knowledge, skills, and experience that would otherwise be lost due to retirement. 

We are now looking for companies to participate! Participation includes an interview on Teams and two co-creation workshops in the spring of 2026.

We are looking for medium-sized companies to develop their use of generative AI

In the GEKKO project, we explore how generative AI can be used to renew and improve operations both in everyday work and across the entire organisation.

In this free-of-charge project, we will examine the best AI practices in businesses and build a learning network.

Join the AI Gamechanger project

In the AI Gamechanger project, we focus on leveraging artificial intelligence in sales, marketing, management, and strategy work. Small and medium-sized enterprises applying to join will have the opportunity to build detailed AI agents, create their own AI roadmap, move from experimentation to systematic development, and participate in international exchange weeks. The project is being prepared, and funding is being sought from Business Finland.

Umair Ali Khan receives ProICT Award for work on artificial intelligence

The ATK-instituutti säätiö (ICT institute foundation) has awarded Haaga-Helia's Senior Researcher Umair Ali Khan with the ProICT Award for particularly meritorious ICT work.

Umair Ali Khan is a promoter of science and technology, and responsible AI adoption. He is a driving force in many of Haaga-Helia's projects focusing on artificial intelligence.

Project news

Ekoälyä pilots will start early 2026

In its final year of operation, the Ekoälyä project is developing solutions that utilise artificial intelligence and machine learning to address waste management issues. In January, the first pilot will begin at Westenergy's waste-to-energy plant in Mustasaari, Vaasa, where incoming waste loads will be photographed, and a computer trained with waste data will identify waste information from images.

In addition to the pilots, Ekoälyä workshops will continue throughout the early spring. All stakeholders in the waste sector are welcome to attend, from representatives of treatment facilities to logistics companies, as well as representatives from municipalities and cities.

METACOG develops AI literacy

Project meeting

 

Partners of the METACOG project from the Netherlands, Montenegro, Slovakia, and Finland met in Košice, Slovakia. The Erasmus+ funded project aims to raise awareness of disinformation, strengthen critical thinking, and develop AI literacy.

During the meeting, the consortium planned an AI literacy program and co-developed a MOOC online course.

Recording: Johtamisesta vauhtia tekoälyn skaalaamiseen

In the AI Scalers project webinar, industry experts discussed how organisations have succeeded in turning AI experiments into applications that support strategic goals.

The event featured inspiring talks on AI management and a panel discussion on managing and scaling artificial intelligence.
