Accounting lecturer Heli Kortesalmi has also been involved in education export projects.
Heli Kortesalmi has been working at Haaga-Helia for over ten years as an accounting lecturer.
‒ Previously, I worked in financial administration but I wanted to change to teaching. I graduated as a teacher back in 2004, but it wasn’t until six years later that I dared to change domains. I had tried part-time teaching at Omnia for a year, and I had discovered that I really like when people learn and get excited.
Kortesalmi finds it motivating if she can make students feel excited about accounting.
- I am often proud of our students. It’s also great when a student finds a job in the final stages of their studies and heads out towards a new career with excitement.
At Haaga-Helia, in addition to teaching, Kortesalmi has been involved in educational export projects, which enabled her to teach also in Mexico for a few weeks.
In addition to international projects, Kortesalmi has also taught at Haaga-Helia's other campuses. She has taught for example coaches at Vierumäki campus.
