Student testimonial

Tomi Alo chose Haaga-Helia for its strong reputation for innovative and high-quality education, as well as its affordability compared to many other countries.

– The degree programme in International Business, and accounting curriculum as whole, was well-structured and gives a solid foundation to continue my career, whether here in Finland or elsewhere. I also liked that Haaga-Helia’s approach goes beyond theory and helps students build practical skills from day one.

Diversity was another important factor in her decision.

– Being able to be part of a multicultural environment where I get to learn, share ideas, and grow with people from different parts of the world has really enriched my learning experience.

An interactive and practical learning experience

Tomi describes her studies at Haaga-Helia as an exciting journey. The interactive learning style offers a good mix of group work, projects and independent assignments.

– Many of the projects simulate real business challenges. There are also so many opportunities from events to company visits that provide opportunities to connect with professionals in the field.

One of the biggest surprises for Tomi was the support she has received from teachers.

– The teachers are approachable, easy to talk to, and genuinely care about how your studies are going.

Tomi has also received support for her career development through networking events and career fairs.

– The school organises sessions on international career paths and offers guidance on things like resumes, interviews, and professional skills. Overall, I believe Haaga-Helia teaches you how to adapt, take initiative and prepare for challenges in today's world.
