Our training program is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills required to excel as a cabin crew member in European airlines. This comprehensive course includes both theoretical and practical training, covering all required elements related to the duties and responsibilities of cabin crew. Our training modules include the following subjects:
- General theoretical knowledge of aviation and aviation regulations covering all elements relevant to the duties and responsibilities required from cabin crew.
- Communication skills
- Introductory course on human factors (HF) in aviation and crew resource management (CRM)
- Passenger handling and cabin surveillance
- Aero‐medical aspects and first aid
- Handling of dangerous goods
- Fire and smoke training
- Survival skills training
Upon completing the course, you will earn an EASA Cabin Crew Attestation and a Cabin Crew Initial Course Completion Certificate. These credentials will enable you to apply for Cabin Crew Member positions in any airline within the European territory, opening doors to a rewarding career in the aviation industry.

On the final day of the course, graduating students are invited to an industry insight session where airlines – including Lufthansa and Norwegian – will share details about their upcoming cabin crew recruitment processes.
Haaga-Helia CCM Academy entry requirements
- Age of at least 18 years old
- Secondary education completed (upper secondary/vocational school)
- Fluency in English
- Height minimum 160 cm (your height will be measured)
- Good general health:
- This means that you should have no long-term medical conditions, especially conditions requiring continuous or recurrent medication or regular follow-up.
- Normal vision and color vision and normal hearing, (distant visual acuity using both eyes 0.7 or better with or without corrective lenses.
- You must be able to swim at least 25 meters unaided (swimming skills will be tested)
- You must be a team player and have a friendly and warm approach towards customers and colleagues.
- You must have resilience in stressful situations.
Consider also, that when applying for a Cabin Crew Member position in a European airline, you must fulfil additional requirements, such as:
- EASA Part Medical Cabin Crew Regulations (page 128)
- Clean criminal record
- Valid passport
Some airlines may also have additional requirements, such as:
- Additional language skills requirements
- On top of minimum height, requirement for minimum reach
- Limitations concerning visible tattoos or piercings
- Some previous experience in hospitality or customer service

Schedule: Weekdays (some sessions in the evenings)
Location: Mainly at Haaga-Helia’s modern Pasila Campus, with selected practical exercises held at a professional flight training facility in Vantaa.
The payment is made only after the applicant has been accepted into the programme. Payment can be made using various methods, including credit card, which also allows for installment payments.

Important to know:
- We recommend that you obtain a valid Cabin Crew Medical Attestation, or undergo an aviation medical examination that may qualify you for one, before applying. (link). Website in Finnish.
- The course is intensive and demands full commitment and the right attitude
- No course fees will be refunded if discontinued due to poor performance or incorrect information provided in the application (e.g., swimming skills or height)
- Successful completion is the first step into a strong, safety-oriented, and supportive aviation community
- The training enhances your prospects of employment as cabin crew but does not guarantee a job.

Note! We will only accept applications written in English. You will be asked to make a 1 min video recording, so you must have a device with a camera available. Please start the video by showing a valid ID. Make sure you have all the required attachments (resume, letter of motivation (maximum length 1 page), copy of secondary school diploma) available before you begin to fill out the application form.

Those who successfully complete the training are eligible to apply for jobs in the field in EU, but starting work also requires completing airline-specific type training. Type training relates to familiarity with the specific aircraft models used by the airline, such as the A320 or B737.

Get to know our CCM management
Haaga-Helia CCM Academy's Chief Instructor, Sonja Etelävuori, is a Senior Lecturer in Hospitality Management at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences and a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Lapland.
She has 15 years of experience as a cabin crew member, with a specialization in long-haul business class service. Since the beginning of her career, she has had a special interest in aviation safety, which has led to her work as a cabin crew safety instructor and an emergency response team member. Sonja strongly believes that understanding the importance of safety procedures and committing to them from the very beginning provide the key to professional performance as a cabin crew member.

Haaga-Helia CCM Academy's Accountable Manager, Ari Etelävuori, serves as a Senior Lecturer and Team Lead in the Aviation Business Program at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences.
With 34 years of experience as a commercial airline pilot, he has held multiple roles, including flight instructor and examiner positions, as well as key airline management roles such as Head of Quality and Safety in Flight Operations and Training Chief Pilot for the B757 fleet. Ari retired as an Airbus A350 captain, during which time he also coordinated a collegial support program for flight personnel and contributed to an airline Emergency Response Team.
Ari’s guiding principle is: “The cornerstone of aviation safety is our attitude!”
