Degree Programme in Hospitality Operations Management

ravintolan keittiömestari ja ravintolapäällikkö

The Degree Programme in Hospitality Operations Management (HOPE) prepares you with the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to thrive in the evolving hospitality and service business environment of tomorrow.

HOPE is a bilingual degree programme designed especially for immigrants. Finnish language studies play a significant role in the programme. Finnish is integrated into professional courses taught in English and is further supported by dedicated Finnish language courses. This approach helps you build the language competence needed for a successful career in Finland’s hospitality sector.

The programme supports your career development toward supervisory and management roles within the hospitality industry. Your studies seamlessly combine business expertise, customer understanding, and employee management, with a strong focus on learning by doing. Throughout the studies you will deepen your skills in customer service, marketing, financial management, networking and leadership – skills that can be immediately applied in your current workplace.

To be eligible, you must have minimum of B2 level in the English language and A1.3 level in Finnish language. In addition, you are required to have at least 405 hours (15 ECTS) of work experience in the hospitality and/or tourism field. An existing workplace is highly beneficial, as some courses can be completed through a flexible Work & Study model.
