Tuition Fees and Scholarships - Frequently Asked Questions

The tuition fees are 9,500 EUR per academic year for Bachelor’s degrees and 10,500 EUR per academic year for Master’s degrees.

The tuition fees are paid twice a year, once per semester. The tuition fee payments for spring semester are due in November, and the tuition fee payments for autumn semester are due in May.

Students who start their studies on 1 August 2024 onwards, need to pay the tuition fee for the first two semesters at once.

A scholarship system is available in Haaga-Helia UAS in every Bachelor's degree programme subjected to tuition fees. Scholarships can be awarded to degree students who are admitted to a degree programme conducted in english in Haaga-Helia UAS and who are studying in Finland. Scholarships are granted on the basis of study progress in Haaga-Helia on the second academic year onwards. See information about Tuition Fees and Scholarships here.

There is a 50% scholarship in the Rolling Admission application for applicants exceeding SAT scores of 1450 points. They will be offered a study place at Haaga-Helia with a 50% scholarships of the entire degree. Five such scholarships are offered per year (2 for January intake, 3 for August intake).

Please note that early bird discounts and a scholarship which covers 20 % of the cost of the annual tuition fee (completed 55 ECTS) do not apply for applicants rewarded with this particular scholarship.

First-year students are not eligible for scholarships except 50% scholarship in the Rolling Admission application for applicants exceeding SAT scores of 1450 points.

Only the joint application and Rolling Admission application applicants who accept the study offer and pay the tuition fee within the given time frame are eligible for the Early Bird discount, which is 50% of the first semester’s tuition fee. Please note that the Early Bird discount is not available in any other applications.

The tuition fee includes teaching and access to the learning facilities and the student Library. As a student at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences you have access to Student Services and ICT services will also be at your disposal to support your studies.

It does not cover housing costs, food, health insurance, public transportation or other personal expenses. Finnish immigration service requires that you have at least 560 EUR at your disposal every month to be able to pay for your accommodation, food, and other needs. So, in addition to the tuition fee, you must have 6,720 EUR to be able to study in Finland for a year and to get a residence permit in Finland.

Tuition fee can be refunded if the student receives negative decision about their residence permit application from Finnish immigration services. Sum of 1,500 EUR will be deducted from tuition fee.

Tuition fee can also be refunded if student is still waiting for residence permit during the second semester. 

If tuition fee is refunded student will lose their study right. Finnish immigration services will be notified about this.

Type A permit granted for studying in Finland (from 15 April 2022 onwards) doesn’t exempt a student from paying the tuition fee.
