  • Tell what has happened (accident, illness attack, if people are in danger).
  • Tell where it happened (exact address, locality, department, building).
  • Answer the questions.
  • Don’t shut your phone before given permission.
  • Follow the instructions given.

In case of fire

  • Save those in danger, warn others.

  • Guide the fire brigade to the scene.
  • Prevent later damage.
  • Don’t use the elevator!

You must vacate the premises immediately whenever the fire alarm goes off, and follow any instructions given.

General danger signal

The authorities warn the population of any immediate danger with the general danger signal, which:

  • is a one minute alarm with a rising tone (length 7 seconds) and a descending tone (length 7 seconds) or
  • a warning communicated by the authorities.
  • The all clear sign is a signal with even tone lasting one minute.

Whenever you hear the general alarm, act as follows:

  • Move indoors. Stay inside.
  • Close all doors, windows, ventilation systems and air conditioning.
  • Turn on the radio and calmly listen for instructions.
  • Avoid using the phone to avoid line blocking.
  • Don’t leave the area without a clear light from the authorities, as this may put you in harms way.
  • (In exceptional situations, the general alarm informs of the need to move to a bomb shelter or other protected area.)
