What is 3UAS?

3UAS is a strategic alliance of the three biggest Universities of Applied Sciences in Helsinki metropolitan area, Haaga-Helia, Laurea and Metropolia. The purpose of the alliance is to benefit from the strengths of three Universities of Applied Sciences and gain added value from the cooperation. The aim is to offer know-how and competence for changing working life and offer high-quality education to the international market.

3UAS studies

The study offering of 3UAS consists of learning lanes, intensive courses and language courses. Through 3UAS, you can register for language courses organized by the three universities and for language courses at Aalto University.

Intensive courses are work-based implementations of 5–10 credits, where projects are often implemented for different organizations.

3UAS Intensive courses are organized throughout the year and the registration period opens usually a few months before the start of the implementation.

Learning lanes are ready-made units of 15 credits that last for the entire semester. Each university organizes the implementation of one 5 credits in the competence pathway.

Students have the opportunity to utilize the study offerings of all three UAS within the framework of one study implementation.

Students of Haaga-Helia, Laurea and Metropolia can participate in wide selection of 3UAS language courses and the language courses of Aalto University. Aalto University's language courses will be published on 11 May and you can register for them immediately after publication.

3UAS students are accepted for Aalto University implementations if there is space for the courses.

Intensive courses of Summer 2022

• Climate Launchpad, 5 ECTS, for Bachelor and Master students

ClimateLaunchpad is the world’s largest green business ideas competition. The goal is to unlock the world’s cleantech potential that addresses climate change and create a stage for those ideas.

In this intensive course, you can come up with an idea to combat climate change and develop your idea while receiving business coaching and pitching training.

The course will be executed in English and it is a web-based realisation. This year’s Climate Launchpad has been organized in collaboration with 3ES (entrepreneurship societys).

Enrollment: 2.5.-31.5.2022

Intensive course: 26.6.-29.6.2022 ja 15.8.-18.8.2022

• Innovation project MINNO®, 10 ECTS, 2. and 3. year IT-students

The aim of the course is to learn how to innovate new products, services or operating models together for the work-based needs of companies, organizations and projects. Innovating takes place in multidisciplinary teams of about 5 people, each with students from different degrees and backgrounds. 

At the end of the course, the groups showcase their innovation projects to the world of work, the school community and the Helsinki city business advisors. The intensive implementation lasts 7 weeks and will be held in English.

• 10 Days 100 Challenges, 7-10 ECTS, for Bachelor and Master students

10 Days 100 Challenges is a unique open innovation program where you learn new work-life skills and solve challenges together with leading innovative companies, professional experts and inspiring coaches. 

The program is open for everyone who wants to learn about innovation and service design, engage with real-life challenges and to connect with talented individuals and build professional networks.

Enrollment: 25.4.-13.5.2022

Intensive course: 30.5.-7.6.2022

3AMK and Aalto University’s language courses

Students of Haaga-Helia, Laurea and Metropolia can use the language offerings of 3UAS and Aalto University. You can enroll for 3UAS language courses 2.5.-6.6.2022.

Aalto University’s language courses will be published on 11.5.2022 and you can enroll for them immediately after publication. Enrollment for Aalto University’s courses ends one week before the start of the course. 3UAS students are accepted for the courses if there is still space.
