Henna Heinilä works as a Principal Lecturer at Haaga-Helia School of Vocational Teacher Education. Her academic degree is Doctor of Philosophy.
Heinilä´s key competences are vocational pedagogy and tutoring. She defines the cooperation and collaborative development between students, teachers and the world of work as the essence of vocational pedagogy. The essence of tutoring, on the other hand, is based on appreciative interaction and the respect of self-regulation.
Heinilä has studied empowering photography and she applies it as a method in trainings, tutoring and as a research method in research and development projects.
Heinilä worked as a vocational teacher, developer and superior 20 years before she started as a teacher trainer at Haaga-Helia year 2009. Since then, she has been involved in many research and development projects concerning tutoring, work-integrated pedagogy and cooperation between education and the world of work.
