Lead paragraph

Haaga-Helia's International services provide exchange students with all the necessary support they need when starting a new exciting phase in their lives.

Orientation days

Haaga-Helia International Services will arrange orientation for all new incoming exchange students before the beginning of courses. The orientation dates are available under Important Dates. Students should make travel arrangements accordingly.

It is mandatory for every exchange student to participate in the orientation days because it will give students essential information on various practical matters such as studies, housing and living in Finland. It is also a great possibility to meet other exchange students and ESN-HELGA also organises evening programme during the orientation days.

Orientation days in spring 2021:

13-15 Jan 2021

Student tutor programme

Each exchange student will have a student tutor at Haaga-Helia. ESN-HELGA coordinates the tutoring activities at Haaga-Helia. ESN-HELGA tutors are volunteer degree students of Haaga-Helia who give supports to exchange students, particularly at the beginning of their exchange period. A tutor’s most important task is to be a friend for the exchange student and help with all of the practicalities involved in moving to a new country.

Tutors pick up exchange students from the airport, take them to their apartments, help them after arrival with different arrival formalities, and introduce them to life in Finland.

Your tutor should contact you by e-mail before your arrival. If you have not heard from your tutor one month before the beginning of the semester, please contact ESN HELGA’s tutor coordinator (exch-tutor@helga.fi).
