Students founded their own hockey league – HH Rangers represents Haaga-Helia

In Finland, 17 teams have formed their own ice hockey league, the FCAA, which is run by higher education students. The HH Rangers, a team made up of Haaga-Helia students, is one of the teams.

A dedicated ice hockey league for university students is still new in Finland. The league started this academic year, but immediately became very popular and 17 teams signed up. The series has also attracted other students, and the stands are full of students cheering on their teams.

The teams from Haaga-Helia and Metropolia met in Helsinki Ice Hall on Tuesday 2.4.2024. The match turned out to be a thrilling spectacle, with the goal net swinging at both ends. The HH Rangers were already leading 4–1, but Metropolia's Metka took a 4–5 lead in the last period, but the HH Rangers scored two goals to win 6–5 in the last minute.

The season's culmination will be played in Vaasa on 10–11 April, where this year's FCAA champion will be decided.
