The ALFA Labs project is a pioneering initiative under the Ulysseus European University Alliance, aimed at advancing digital education and AI integration in higher education.
Through the collaboration of four core higher education institutions and four associate partners all from the Ulysseus European University Alliance, the project seeks to strengthen digital readiness and capacity, enabling institutions to manage the shift to AI-powered digital learning environments.
Key objectives include:
- co-creating a comprehensive Digital Transformation Plan (DTP) and digital assessment tools,
- piloting an AI Maturity Index and AI Readiness Scale, and
- co-designing an ALFA Kit with actionable steps for institutions to foster digital skills.
ALFA Labs will also produce a 3 ECTS MOOC on using AI as an accessible and assistive educational tool, creating opportunities for teachers and students across Europe to enhance their digital capabilities.
A significant focus of ALFA Labs is on co-creation, scalability and sustainability. The project's outcomes will be shared through the Ulysseus Innovation Hubs and hosted on an open-access platform, with the potential to benefit educators and policymakers alike.
ALFA Labs not only addresses current digital education needs but also aligns with the EU AI Act and the European Skills Agenda, ensuring compliance and fostering innovation across the digital education landscape.
