Spring and summer schedules and enrolment 

The schedules for spring and summer studies 2024 will be published on Mon 20 November in Timetable tool (Lukkarikone). The pre-enrolment for spring and summer studies begins on 27 November 2023 at 8.00 o'clock and ends on 4 December 2023 at 16.00 o'clock. The second enrolment round begins on 2 January 2024 at 8.00 o'clock and ends at 16.00 o'clock on the Friday of the week before the implementation begins.

Graduation 

If you are graduating at the end of the year, check the important dates related to graduation on Haaga-Helia's websites. If you want to graduate on a graduation date, the graduation ceremony will be organised on Mon 18 December 2023 at Haaga campus.

Library trainings 

Haaga-Helia's library organises useful trainings on information search and reference management with Mendeley in November. Please check the websites for more information.  

Library arranges also personal guidance sessions on information searching either online or at the library. For quick questions, book a time for Info Express (max. 15 min). We do our best to arrange an Info Express session as quickly as possible. If you need more help with your information searching, book a time for Personal Guidance Session. Library maintains an excellent LibGuides website where you can find a lot of up-to-date tips for searching information as well as how to reference.

Winter in Finland event on 22.11.  

Are you new in Finland or wondering what to do during the winter and how to discover winter hobbies and activities? You are warmly welcome to our Winter in Finland event at Pasila Library (near Haaga-Helia's Pasila campus).  

Winter in Finland is designed to help students learn more about support, activities, and opportunities during the colder months! The event will take place at Pasila Library, Pasilian Kirjasto, which is located at Kellosilta 9. During the event, attendees can learn more about the Helsinki Metropolitan Library System, its possibilities, and the Pasila Library. 

Students can also hear about the support and activities of Haaga-Helia's well-being services and our student unions. Finally, fellow Haaga-Helians will introduce what they like to do in winter. How do they spend their time? What challenges have they faced, and how they overcame these challenges? Sign up here.

Study coaching 

Study coaching is intended for all Haaga-Helia students whose absorption in studies has begun to weaken. The study coach offers guidance and support for promoting studies and coping with studies. Coaching can deal with, for example, the scheduling of studies and everyday life, mapping one's own strengths and developing one's own study techniques, or going through the emotions evoked by studies. Study coaching is confidential, short-term, and meetings are always tailored individually with the student. You can arrange the first meeting easily by e-mail: [email protected]

Other student wellbeing services’ events 

• Pomodoro Tuesdays: Do you need motivation to study? Join our structured study session and after reward yourself with good pizza and company! In Helga Lounge, Pasila campus 7.11, 14.11 and 21.11 at 14-16 study session and 16-17 Pizza hangout. Read more and sign up. 
• Thesis Café: Start your week with coffee, inspiring company and writing motivation! Thesis Café is relaxed coffee break for all thesis writers hosted by Haaga-Helia´s Study Coaches. Meet fellow thesis writers and exchange ideas, or just get some coffee to kickstart your day. You can just stop by or stay longer to work with your thesis or other schoolwork. Study Coaches are there if you want to talk about wellbeing, time-management and anything related to the thesis process. On Mondays 6.11, 13.11, 20.11 and 27.11 at Pasila Campus Library, Room 3202, from 9 to 10 am. Join in! 
• Tökkiikö oppari –webinaari (Only in Finnish): Aiheuttaako opinnäytetyö sinulle stressiä? Onko ehkä vaikea aloittaa tai päästää irti jo valmiista tekstistä? Opintovalmentajat kutsuvat sinut 1 h webinaariin 23.11. klo 16 pohtimaan, miten pärjätä haastavien tunteiden kanssa sekä miten tarttua toimeen ja saada aikaan myös silloin, kun motivaatio alkaa hiipua. Ilmoittaudu tästä mukaan. 

Kielibuusti – Language boost 

On Kielibuusti – Language boost websites you can find advice and materials on anything related to learning Finnish and Swedish. The site includes self-study materials, tips for language learning at work, tools for planning and guiding language learning, and pedagogical materials.

Study in Finland Student Ambassador Program 

This is a great opportunity for Haaga-Helia international students to share their experience and get new experience and connections. Application deadline: 30th November. You can read more about the program here.

CampusOnline spring course offering 

CampusOnline courses for spring period will be published and enrolments begin in November-December. You can complete Master level studies and transfer them to your Master's degree. Before enroling for the course, discuss the matter with your guidance counsellor. This is how you ensure that the courses are suitable for your degree.

Haku esihautomo-ohjelmaan avautuu marraskuun alussa (Only in Finnish) 

StartUp Schoolin (Re-)StartUp esihautomo-ohjelmassa saat mahdollisuuden kehittää liikeideastasi markkinavalmiin yrityksen – samalla opintopisteitä ansaiten. Valitsemme mukaan 10–15 alkuvaiheen yritystä tai yritysideaa. 12 viikon esihautomo-ohjelma koostuu Ideasta Liiketoimintamalliksi -opintojaksosta, asiantuntijoiden vetämistä teematyöpajoista sekä henkilökohtaisesta coachauksesta. Voit hakea mukaan yksin tai yrityksestäsi kasatun tiimin voimin. Opetus tapahtuu Pasilassa sekä verkon välityksellä.  

Esihautomo-ohjelma pähkinänkuoressa  

• 12 viikkoa, ohjelman toteutus 1.2.-24.4.2024.   
• Kolme opintojaksoa, laajuus: 15 op. Ohjelman aikana tuotetaan osaamisportfolio, sekä pitch deck liikeideastasi.  
• Opetusta kaksi kertaa viikossa maanantaisin (klo 14–17 verkossa) ja keskiviikkoiltaisin (klo 17–20 Pasilassa), lisäksi Pasilassa järjestettävät boot camp -päivät ohjelman alussa ja puolessa välissä. Valmennussessioita 4–6 kertaa, joiden aikataulu sovitaan yksilökohtaisesti oman coachin kanssa.   
• Ohjelma sisältää fasilitoitua opiskelua, tiimivalmennuksia, oman liiketoimintamallin itsenäistä kehitystyötä sekä verkostoitumistapahtumia.  
• Osallistujat pääsevät osaksi StartUp Schoolin yrittäjäverkostoa ja saavat verkostoitumismahdollisuuksia Helsingin kaupungin kampushautomoekosysteemin kautta.
• Ohjelman lopussa järjestetään Demo Day, jossa osallistujat pääsevät esittelemään liikeideansa.

3AMK:n opintotarjonta (Only in Finnish) 

3AMK:n kevään 2024 opintotarjonta julkaistaan 14.11. ja ilmoittautuminen opintojaksoille alkaa 27.11. Voit suorittaa YAMK/Master-tasoisia opintoja ja hyväksilukea ne tutkintoosi. Ennen kuin ilmoittaudut opintojaksolle, keskustele asiasta opinto-ohjaajasi kanssa. Näin varmistat opintojaksojen sopivuuden tutkintoosi.

Master thesis 

The thesis should be started at the beginning of the third semester i.e. second study year the latest. You can find support and information from Master thesis web page and on the Applied Design Research course. If you don’t have a thesis topic yet, remember to participate in the Master seminar of your specialisation where you can get support for ideation.
