The purpose of the Deeds of the Year awards is to make high-quality work in Haaga-Helia visible. Proposals can be sent by Haaga-Helia's staff and students, no later than 29 November 2023.

Four award categories represent our versatile activities

The Deed of the Year can be proposed in four categories: Pedagogical Deed of the Year, RDI Deed of the Year, Societal and International Deed of the Year, and Community Deed of the Year. The Deed of the Year develops Haaga-Helia and its operations. The novelty value of the deed, Haaga-Helia's values and strategic priorities will be emphasized when selecting the winners.

You can submit your proposal to any or all of the categories:

  • The Pedagogical Deed of the Year rewards high-quality higher education teaching, learning and guidance or development work in these areas at Haaga-Helia.
  • The RDI Deed of the Year rewards the promotion of high-quality research, development and innovation activities at Haaga-Helia.
  • The Societal and International Deed of the Year rewards the promotion of high-quality commercial, international or regional development activities at Haaga-Helia.
  • The Community Deed of the Year rewards an action or act that has promoted Haaga-Helia's community values.

The different aspects of the award categories have been taken into account in the representation of the selection committee. Head of Quality Management Tia Hoikkala, Vice President Salla Huttunen, Competence Area Director Kiti Häkkinen, HR Director Hanna Ilmonen, Commercial Director Anne-Mari Karppinen, Research Services Director Satu Koivisto and Director of the School of Vocational Teacher Education Marianne Kukko are the members of the selection committee. The committee makes a proposal for the Deeds of the Year to the President of Haaga-Helia, who confirms the awardees. The winners will be announced in December.
