What our partners value in collaboration – Behind the Scenes
Reference interviews are a new way to create visibility for Haaga-Helia’s partner organizations. A compilation of the video interviews will be published later on Haaga-Helia’s YouTube channel.
Body
On Tuesday, January 14, 2026, filming is underway at Haaga-Helia’s MediaLab, and the first guest, Kojamo’s HR Business Partner Minna Laatikainen, takes a seat in the interview chair. Conducting the interview is Haaga-Helia’s Partner Relationship Manager Kia Lindström, and behind the camera, Communications Specialist Kristiina “Krisu” Marttinen is responsible for filming and audio.
Our new partner Kojamo trusts the potential of the collaboration
The atmosphere in the studio is relaxed as the interview begins with warm-up questions. Laatikainen starts by introducing Kojamo’s operations. Kojamo is Finland’s largest private residential real estate investment company and provides Lumo rental apartments.
— Our operations are guided by an excellent customer experience, Laatikainen says to the camera.
Haaga-Helia and Kojamo began their collaboration in December 2025. In the interview, Laatikainen emphasizes the smooth communication during the early stages of the partnership. The compatibility of Haaga-Helia’s educational offerings with Kojamo’s business needs is also highlighted as a key factor in the partnership.
— I believe that Haaga-Helia’s educational offering aligns very well with the roles Kojamo provides, Laatikainen says enthusiastically.
Overall, Laatikainen strongly believes in the potential of the partner program.
Six years of collaboration – Academic Work
Filming continues later, around noon, when Juuli Torstensson, People and Performance Generalist at Haaga-Helia’s long-term partner Academic Work, arrives at the Pasila studio.
Over the years, Academic Work has participated in Haaga-Helia events such as Duuniin.net and Tuunaa tulevaisuutesi, organized student recruitment activities, guest lectures, and various competitions. Through these activities, Academic Work has gained significant visibility among students and reached student applicants for open positions.
Essential role of the partner manager
Torstensson highlights the importance of communication and the role of the partner manager in successful collaboration. According to her, Partner Manager Timo Lampikoski has made the cooperation exceptionally easy:
— The partner manager keeps us up to date on everything we need to know, understands what is happening at Haaga-Helia, and based on that we jointly come up with partnership initiatives, Torstensson says.
A partner manager is Haaga-Helia’s contact person (usually a lecturer) for the selected partner organization. Partner managers communicate partners’ activities and events to students, organize guest lectures and projects with partners, and assist with arranging student recruitment activities.
Collaboration develops over time
Even though the partnership has been ongoing for a long time, each year has brought something new to the collaboration:
— The cooperation improves year by year, Torstensson says.
With these words, it is a good moment to conclude filming for the day. Thank you, Kojamo and Academic Work, for your time and for your willingness to take part in the interviews!
