The second part of the national final of the Project Management Championship was held on 28 March at the Haaga-Helia campus in Pasila. Six teams participated: three from Haaga-Helia, two from Savonia and one from the University of Vaasa. The six best teams had qualified for the finals on the basis of the initial qualification task.

The team from Haaga-Helia, consisting of Siiri Karjalainen, Jenny Nyman and Henri Toivomäki, won the competition and a place in the international competition. The team from the University of Vaasa came second and Haaga-Helia third.

Haaga-Helia's winning team had a clear desire to succeed in the competition. In the final, the judges assessed not only the simulation game performance but also the teamwork and how well the teams presented themselves and evaluated their own performance.

– The winning team's strength was in their analysis of the project simulation game and in particular what they learned from the mistakes they made during the simulation. These were excellently described in the final project report, which was also well presented to the jury and the other teams. The team also worked strongly together and the roles were clear, comments Anne Wuokko, lecturer at Haaga-Helia.

The competition was sponsored by Posti and LessonLab. In addition to the sponsors, the jury included PRY (Projektiammattilaiset ry) and Young Crew Finland. Haaga-Helia provided the venue this year. The international final is organised by IPMA.
