Burger Company and Haaga-Helia are now partners
The collaboration between Haaga-Helia and Burger Company is based on a shared ambition to develop expertise within the restaurant industry.
Body
Burger Company is a Finnish, family-owned restaurant chain with a focus on high-quality burgers, strong branding, and efficient business operations. The company combines a modern concept, carefully selected ingredients, and a smooth customer experience.
Innovation and development
Burger Company Co-Founder Sami Benamed was named Bachelor of Hospitality Management of the Year 2025. The award is an honorary recognition given by Haaga-Helia to a graduate of its Degree Programme in Hospitality Management who, through innovation and exemplary work, has paved the way for future hospitality professionals.
Benamed’s experience from his hospitality studies at Haaga-Helia, combined with his long career as a serial entrepreneur in the restaurant industry, brings valuable insight into forms of collaboration in the partnership.
– We want to be closer to future professionals in the restaurant industry while also developing our own operations. Collaboration with Haaga-Helia gives us new perspectives, talent, and opportunities for growth, says Benamed.
Practical scope for the partnership
In practice, the partnership is built around student projects and joint development activities. Students gain the opportunity to work on real industry assignments, while Burger Company benefits from students’ insights and expertise.
– Our collaboration is based on sharing knowledge and hands-on learning. It includes student projects through which we can test and develop new business solutions, Benamed explains.
Through the partnership, the aim is to support sustainable business development and help hospitality management students on their paths into working life.
– I think it’s fantastic to collaborate with companies and people who have a genuine passion for the industry, its development, and our students, says lecturer Maija Niemelä.
– I believe our students are highly motivated to work on real-life business development projects, while getting to know entrepreneurs in the field. Course projects carried out in cooperation with companies represent work-life-oriented learning at its best, Niemelä concludes.
