In autumn 2026, a total of 165 students began their studies in programmes delivered in partnership with Chengdu Jincheng College and Shandong University of Political Science and Law.

The new joint Business Information Technology programme between Haaga-Helia and Chengdu Jincheng College officially commenced in September 2026 with an opening ceremony welcoming its first cohort of 51 students. The students will complete their degree studies in China over a four-year period, with teaching delivered jointly by Chengdu Jincheng College and Haaga-Helia.

Haaga-Helia’s teaching activities in Chengdu will begin in October 2026, when the first group of Haaga-Helia lecturers travels to China to deliver courses as part of the programme.

First students start studies in Shandong

At the same time, Haaga-Helia’s joint Business Information Technology programme with Shandong University of Political Science and Law has welcomed its first cohort of 114 students.

The programme is an officially approved joint education initiative that combines the expertise and educational approaches of both institutions. Students will complete their studies in China over a four-year period as well, with Haaga-Helia’s teaching beginning in autumn 2027 as they progress to the next phase of their studies.

Haaga-Helia’s contribution to the programme will focus on Business Information Technology education and the university’s distinctive learning-by-doing approach, which integrates practical experience with academic studies.

– The launch of these two programmes represents an important step in Haaga-Helia’s internationalisation strategy and further strengthens educational cooperation between Finland and China. With 165 students now enrolled, the programmes provide a strong foundation for long-term collaboration and future academic exchange between the partner institutions, says Susanna Niinistö-Sivuranta, President and CEO of Haaga-Helia.
