Experiences with Market 24/7 - and a new start this autumn

During the spring, Haaga-Helia's Pasila campus trialled a new Market 24/7 service, the smart shop. Experiences with the Market 24/7 service, launched in cooperation between Compass Group and the PasilaHUB project, were mainly positive, and the number of users increased as the smart shop became more familiar.

It was possible to buy hot meals, salads, snacks and drinks from the Market 24/7 Smart Shop. The service was available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, especially for evening and weekend visitors on campus. The aim of the Market 24/7 service on the Pasila campus was to fill service gaps, reduce queues, and smooth out peaks in demand.

The PasilaHUB project and Compass Group regularly monitored Market 24/7 sales, product range and feedback during the 4-month trial. Students participated in the pilot and gave feedback and suggestions for improvement. Changes and improvements were already made during the spring and the product range of the smart shop was updated to better meet the demand.

The aim of the trial was to test the shop's new digital service concept and to increase understanding of how young customers in particular buy their food and snacks. The PasilaHUB trial also aimed to learn more about the potential of self-service driven solutions.

The experiment continues - the service is open again!

The feedback from the trial has been very positive and Compass Group has decided to continue the service on campus this autumn. Market 24/7 found a better location and opened in early September. It offers meals, snacks, cold drinks, and sweets. The Market's selection changes every two months, and we welcome further feedback to improve the service. During the autumn, we will also launch our very own Market app.
