Kurssikuvaus
The world’s population is growing at an unprecedented rate, and nations around the globe are increasingly feeling the impacts of climate change. Events such as the wildfires in California, snowstorms in Washington and flooding in Germany highlight the urgency of addressing environmental challenges. As the global population continues to rise, there is an immediate need to develop modern, sustainable cities that can accommodate everyone while respecting and adapting to the natural environment. To ensure that all people can thrive in the face of these challenges, we must embrace innovative urban planning prioritizes safety, affordability, and resilience.
This new approach should foster green spaces, promote sustainability, and create culturally enriching living environments for all communities. In addressing these critical issues, teams will focus on tackling five to six specific challenges related to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11, which aims to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.
By progressing through the Design Thinking process—Empathy, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test—teams will work towards creating urban solutions that can help shape the cities of tomorrow, ensuring they are liveable, adaptable, and ready to face future environmental and social demands.

Kurssi soveltuu AMK IT-ohjelma opiskelijoille, pääaineena Service Design and Software Development. Haaga-Helian opiskelijoille tarjolla yhteensä 10 paikkaa.
Valitut opiskelijat voivat hakea kurssille Erasmus+ -apurahaa, jolla voi kattaa muun muassa matka- ja majoituskuluja.
