Haaga-Helia’s instructions for the start of the autumn semester

Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences is doing preparations for starting the autumn semester. Haaga-Helia’s first period (24. Aug – 16.Oct 2020) will be organised using the so-called blended model, which means that teaching takes place both on campus and remotely. Haaga-Helia aims to normalise its operations in accordance with the national guidelines and instructions from the authorities using its best efforts.

To prevent and minimize the risk of coronavirus in Haaga-Helia, the students and staff are required to follow safety distances and hygiene instructions. Additionally, Haaga-Helia has enhanced campus cleaning. Everyone must maintain the safety distance to others in elevators, classrooms, work spaces and restaurants.

If you arrive in Finland from a travel restricted country, a mandatory self-quarantine for 14 days is required from you. You must not come to the campus during the self-quarantine period. For more information, read updates regarding the risk areas, and travel regulations from the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare’s website: https://thl.fi/en/web/infectious-diseases-and-vaccinations/what-s-new/coronavirus-covid-19-latest-updates/travel-and-the-coronavirus-pandemic

Do not come to the campus if you are ill or experience Covid-19 symptoms.

If you come from a country that is not travel restricted by the Finnish authorities or have completed the 14-day quarantine, we will meet you on campus in the Orientation Days.

If you cannot attend the orientation on campus due to Covid-19 or visa issues, you will receive a link to the streamed orientation sessions later by email.

If you are not able to arrive in Finland and thus cannot study the autumn semester 2020 on campus at all, you are not obliged to participate the Orientation Days. You can complete part of your studies through our First Half Programme. We have designed the program to serve people who may have been accepted to some Haaga-Helia’s Degree Programme, but whose immigration formalities are still pending.
