Dr. Ari Alamäki is currently working as a Principal lecturer and researcher at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. His current research focuses on business perspectives of big data and cognitive systems and customer behavior and value creation in digital channels. He teaches digital business and management of digital service development.
From 2004 to 2011, he worked as a COO and co-founder of Targetor Oy, a software startup company with 90 large and medium-sized customers, specialized strategy management software solutions. From 2000 to late 2003, he worked for Tieto Oyj, one of the largest ICT service providers in Scandinavia, as a managing consultant in e-learning. In the 1990s, he worked as a teacher and researcher in technology education at the University of Turku. In 1997-1998, he also worked as a visiting scholar at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) and Minnesota State University at Mankato, USA.
He received his PhD in technology education in 1999 from the University of Turku, Finland. He has co-authored one business book, published over 50 scientific articles and conference publications and over 20 professional articles.
