The electronic transcript of records and study certificate are PDF documents equipped with a digital signature to confirm their authenticity and integrity [PAdES - PDF Advanced Electronic Signatures (Directive 1999/93/EC)]. The digital signature replaces handwritten signatures and stamps.
Electronic documents are official only in their digital form and not as paper-printed copies. They cannot be modified, as any change made to the file invalidates the digital signature. The electronic transcript/certificate should be a valid alternative in all situations where signed and stamped paper documents are used. Whatever the transaction, if the party concerned does not accept your digitally signed document, you may request a signed and stamped paper document from any of Haaga-Helia's Student Affairs Offices.
With the Atomi service, you can see the following details of the digital signature in the document:
The signatory: atomi-esign.haaga-helia.fi
Digital Certificate Authority: VRK CA for Service Providers – G3
You can verify the authenticity of a digitally signed document by opening the document with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC software. You can validate the signature by installing the Population Register Centre Root Certificate according to the following instructions:
