This guide provides you with instructions on what you need to do before your course starts. Please take the time to review the instructions.

1. Student identification, username and password

You will receive an e-mail message with instructions to verify the identity your identity. Instructions for authentication, activating your user account, and resetting a forgotten password can be found on this page.

Please note that after you have reset your password, the system will not send a confirmation message, instead it will direct you back to the starting page. Sometimes the identification process can take up to 24 hours for the student account to start working.

2. Multi-factor authentication (Install Microsoft Authenticator App)

At Haaga-Helia, there is a two-step authentication process in place. This means that when you log in to your email or, for example, your VDI desktop from outside the school, you need to verify your identity. To authenticate, you need to make the necessary settings for the Microsoft service managed by Haaga-Helia. The primary method of authentication is the Microsoft Authenticator app, which you download to your phone. In practice, you will receive a message for your Microsoft Authenticator app, which will help in verifying the identity of the person signing in.

3. Login to Haaga-Helia email

You will receive messages related to your studies and courses in Haaga-Helia email. For example, teachers will send messages about your courses to your email, so follow your email daily. Login to the school email at https://outlook.office.com/mail/. Your username for your email is [email protected]. Please note, that when signing into your mailbox, you’ll need to complete two-step authentication.

4. Login to Moodle

Each course implementation has its own digital learning environment in Moodle, Haaga-Helia study platform. In Moodle, you will find all the information needed to complete the course, as well as the teacher’s contact details. Please contact the teacher regarding any questions about completing the course or its content.

Please note: Carefully review the course instructions and assignments in Moodle as soon as the course begins. If the course has assignment deadlines during the first week, submit your work by the due date. Also inform the teacher about your absence. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the teacher canceling your enrollment in the course.

    In the User Name field, enter: your [email protected]

    In the Password field, enter: your password

On your first login, you will be automatically directed to two-factor authentication.

5. Login to Peppi: https://mynet.haaga-helia.fi/

From Peppi you will find, among other things, course evaluations. To log in to Peppi:

    In the User Name field, enter: your username

    In the Password field, enter: your password
