Username and password to Haaga-Helia networks and device recommendations

Haaga-Helia uses electronic identification in order to verify the identity of our new students.

In case you have a Finnish personal identity code, you will receive instructions on how to make the identification on 5 January 2021. You can make the identification as soon as you receive the message. Once you have completed the identification, you will receive your username and password to Haaga-Helia’s network by email and text message (SMS) to the email address and phone number you have previously given us.

In case you do not have a Finnish personal identity code, you will receive instructions on how to make the identification 20 days before your study right in Haaga-Helia begins. You will be directed to Haaga-Helia’s partner organization’s website to make the identification. Once you have completed the identification, you will receive your username and password to Haaga-Helia’s network a few days before your studies in Haaga-Helia begin. The username and password will be sent by email and text message (SMS) to the email address and phone number you have previously given us. We kindly ask you to make the identification as soon as possible.

With the username and password, you will also receive a link to our study agreement, which you will need to fill in before you get an access to the Haaga-Helia student platform.

In case you are not able or willing to make the electronic identification, you can visit Haaga-Helia’s Study Services with an official photo identity card.

Opening hours and contact information for study services

You do not need to log in to the network yet, but keep your username and password safe for you will need them during the orientation days.

Before you get access to the Haaga-Helia student platform you need to read and accept the privacy policy by filling in this form.

After you have accepted the privacy policy you can log in to Haaga-Helia student platform, MyNet.

In MyNet you can plan your studies, communicate with your academic advisor, enroll for courses, check your grades and print your transcript of records. MyNet is also a channel for information. Unfortunately the English side of MyNet is still partially in Finnish – the pages are still being updated and under construction.

In case you do not receive a text message containing your password to the network, you can renew the password in two ways:

  • Using online bank identifiers, mobile certificate or certificate card via our service
  • Contacting Study Services.

Device recommendations and software benefits

Please notice that you are required to have your own laptop during your studies.

At the beginning of your studies you can use almost any computer that is not older than about two years.

Students´ device recommendations

You are required to have your own laptop during your studies. At the beginning of your studies you can use almost any computer that is not older than about two years. Haaga-Helia’s ICT-services are delivered to the students' own devices mainly through our virtual desktop environment (VDI), which you can use also outside the campuses.

 It requires only the Citrix Receiver software (receiver.citrix.com) to be installed on your device. Some of the services are used with a browser. Therefore we do not have specific hardware requirements. 

If you intend to acquire a new device, buy a such which is pleasant to use (a proper keyboard and display, at least 4 GB of memory and a decent battery). Operating system can be almost anything, but preferred is Windows 10 (not Win RT). MacOS X 10.7 or newer or xUbuntu Linux 16. LTS are also suitable, but we can’t offer any help.

For Business Information Technology students: even though the IT-related courses of our Programme are still, mainly conducted in our computer classrooms, in the future, the students should be prepared to use their own devices. If you are purchasing a new device, you should buy one that it is pleasant to work with having a proper keyboard and display, at least 8 GB of memory and a CPU powerful enough.

If you studying in DP in Business Service Solutions and Languages, you need Windows computer, earphones and camera.

Software for students

Haaga-Helia students can get some benefits in software purchases. You will find more detailed information in Mynet (extranet for students in Haaga-Helia), after you have received your username.
