Instructions on how to confirm the offered study place

In order to confirm your admission, complete these steps

The results of the student selection from the Haaga-Helia joint application will be published on My Studyinfo -service during spring.

Note that you can confirm only one study place leading to a degree per academic term (1.8.–31.12. or 1.1.–31.7.) in Universities of Applied Sciences and Universities in Finland. Confirming a study place is a binding choice, and you cannot cancel or change your choice later. When you have confirmed a study place, all the other study programmes that you have applied to and that begin during the same academic term will be automatically cancelled.

According to Haaga-Helia's degree regulations, a student may have only one study right in force in the same degree programme or degree.

Accept your offer of admission online on My Studyinfo -service (www.studyinfo.fi) by 9 July 2026, 15:00 Finnish time (GMT/UTC+2). If you get selected from a waiting list, we will inform you when to confirm the study place at the latest. You will lose the study place if you do not confirm the offered study place by the deadline.

Accepting an offer of admission in the spring joint application for English-taught study programmes

The higher education institutions will publish the admission results at different times. You can accept an offer of admission as soon as you have been admitted to a study programme, and you are sure that you wish to begin studies in that study programme.

If you are offered a study place you can:

a) accept the offer of admission and register as a student at the higher education institution

b) choose not to accept the offer of admission. If you have been placed on a waiting list for other application options, you may still be admitted to those if places become available.

NB! If you do not wish to accept an offer of admission, please inform the higher eucation institution of this as soon as possible so that your place can be offered to the next applicant on the waiting list.

You can be admitted to study programmes from the waiting list during the spring. Note that all study programmes do not admit applicants from waiting lists, for example if all admitted applicants choose to accept the offer of admission. If you receive an offer of admission, you will be sent an offer email from the address noreply (at) opintopolku.fi. There is a link in the offer email and you can follow your possible waiting list position in your other study options via this link. Please note that you cannot see your waiting list situation through the link you have received when applying.

Remember that even if you get admitted to several study programmes in the spring joint application for English-taught study programmes, you can only accept one offer of admission. When you accept an offer of admission, all other study programmes that you have applied to will be cancelled automatically. You can also accept an offer of admission even if you do not know the results of all the study programmes you have applied to. In this case, if you accept an offer of admission, you can no longer be admitted to the other study programmes on your application.

Note that you cannot accept an offer of admission in one study programme and remain on a waiting list for other study programmes in the spring joint application for study programmes offered in English.

In order to be able to use My Studyinfo, you need personal online banking codes from a bank in Finland or a Finnish mobile certificate or Finnish electronic ID-card. If you are not able to use My Studyinfo, you can confirm the study place by using the confirmation link you have received by email.

Waiting list

If you do not get selected by 27 May 2026 and you are placed on the waiting list, you still have a chance to be selected from a waiting list until 4 August 2026 at 15:00 Finnish time.

There will be a tuition fee applicable to students who are not citizens of countries of the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland. If you are liable to pay, pay the tuition fee by 9 July 2026 at 15:00 Finnish time at the latest. The deadline and instructions for the payment are stated in the acceptance email. You will lose your study right if you do not pay the tuition fee by the given deadline.

After your tuition fee payment is confirmed, you will be enrolled as present for the academic year (see more details in the Enrol for the academic year section).

Early Bird discount

An applicant who accepts the offered study place in spring application within 14 days and pays the tuition fee within 30 days of receiving the acceptance notification, will be given an Early Bird discount. The Early Bird discount is 2000 € reduction of the first year’s tuition fee. Please note that in order to qualify for the Early Bird discount, an applicant must meet both of the deadlines. The acceptance email from Haaga-Helia will include detailed instructions for payment. The Early Bird discount only applies if an applicant is accepted by 24 June 2026. If the applicant has been accepted to Haaga-Helia from 25 June 2026 onwards, they have to pay the full tuition fee for the academic year 2026-2027.

The discount applies to the Joint application period and the Rolling application period.

New students who are exempted from paying the tuition fee, can ignore this step.

More information about tuition fees

Students must enrol as present or absent for each academic year. Enrol as present or absent for the academic year by 9 July 2026, 15:00 Finnish time online on My Studyinfo -service (www.studyinfo.fi). You will lose your study right if you do not enrol for the academic year by the given deadline.

If you get selected from a waiting list, we will inform you when to enrol for the academic year at the latest.

If you are required to pay tuition fee, you cannot do the enrolment for the academic year before the fee is paid and all the documents are submitted to Admission Services. After your tuition fee payment is confirmed, you will be enrolled as present for the academic year. If you have a legal reason to be absent during your first academic year, please submit the document to Admission Services as soon as possible but no later than 9 July 2026 at 15:00 Finnish time. If you choose to send the documents by email, please take security issues into account. Documents that contain confidential information (e.g. health information) can be send to Admission services via secure mail system.

According to the Universities of Applied Sciences Act, a student may enrol as absent for the first academic year only due to legal reasons (Act 932/2014):

The student is in active Military service according to the Conscription Act (1438/2007), Non-Military Service Act (1446/2007), or Women's Voluntary Military Service Act (194/1995) in Finland
The student needs time off their studies to take care of a child in regard to the child’s birth or adoption (14.1.2022/52)
An illness or injury, which prevents the student from beginning the studies (affects student's right to be absent later)

You must prove the legal reason for your absence by documents:

Call-up order (palveluksen aloittamismääräys)
You require a leave of absence from your studies due to birth or adoption of a child: Kela's certificate regarding maternity, paternity or parental allowance period or, if the certificate has not yet been received, a medical certificate regarding the pregnancy (or corresponding certificates from the authorities of other countries regarding statutory parental leave).
Sickness allowance decision or, if no decision exists, a medical certificate. The medical certificate must state that this condition prevents you from beginning your studies. Your own notification is not an adequate clarification.

The documents must be submitted in Finnish, Swedish or English. If the legal reason covers only one academic term of the first academic year, you may still enrol as absent for the whole first academic year.

Documents proving legal reasons for absence must be submitted to Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, Admission Services at Pasila campus (Ratapihantie 13, 00520 Helsinki) by 27 November 2025 at 15:00 Finnish time. If you choose to send the documents by email, please take security issues into account. Documents that contain confidential information (e.g. health information) can be send to Admission services via secure mail system.

Deferring the study place for any other reasons is not possible.

The admission of a student is conditional until Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences has checked the applicant’s school and other relevant certificates (copies and originals). Attach the required certificates and translations to your application by 9 July 2026 at 15:00 Finnish time.

You must attach the required certificates and translations to your application even if you enrol as absent for the first academic term. You will lose the study place if you do not provide required certificates by the deadlines given in the acceptance notification or if you have given inadequate or false information about your grades or other factors.

If you get selected from a waiting list, we will inform you when to submit the documents at the latest.

What copies of required certificates should I submit?

NB If you have already submitted copies of certificates and translations to Haaga-Helia during the application period, you do not need to submit them again.

Non-EU/EEA citizens: If you have a certificate which proves that you are exempted from paying the tuition fee, submit the copy of it. If you submitted the copy during the application period, you do not need to submit it again. Please note that your residence permit needs to be valid on 1 August 2026, for you to get exemption from paying tuition fee for the spring term.

Bachelor’s degrees

If the educational qualification used for applying (marked on the application form) is any of these, you need to attach a copy of your degree certificate to your application by 9 July 2026 at 15:00 Finnish time:

A copy of Vocational Qualification completed in Finland before year 2017
A copy of Further or Specialist Qualification completed in Finland before year 2018
A copy of Matriculation examination completed in Finland before year 1990
A copy of Finnish upper secondary school syllabus
If the degree certificate is not in English, Finnish or Swedish, you must also attach a copy of translation made by an authorized translator.

Master’s degrees

All those selected to Master`s Degree studies must attach a signed official work certificates certifying at least two years (24 months) of work experience acquired after completing the degree to their application form by 9 July 2026 at 15:00 Finnish time. If the original work certificate is not in Finnish, Swedish or English, then in addition to the work certificate, a translation of the work certificate into Finnish, Swedish or English by an official language translator is also required. Please note that the employment contract is not valid for verifying work experience.

If you have enrolled as absent, attach your school and work certificates to your application and submit the certificates proving the legal reason for your absence to Admission Services by 9 July 2026 at 15:00 Finnish time by email or post (delivery address below).

We will contact you directly, if you have to present your original documents to Admission Services/Study Services at the start of your studies. The University of Applied Sciences can verify your work experience directly from your employer. Students enrolled as absent will show their original certificates when they enrol as present and start their studies.

The University of Applied Sciences will withdraw the admission, if the applicant has given inadequate or false information in the application process. Falsifying a document is a crime according to Finnish legislation.

Recognition of competences

If you have previous higher education studies or other relevant skills or competences, please book short meeting with your guidance counsellor already before Orientation days. You’ll find more info from Recognition of learning -page.

Right to appeal

In case you feel that a mistake has occurred in the student selection or that the admission criteria have not been adhered to correctly, you can submit a written appeal within 14 days from the day the results of the student selection have been announced. Please, first acquaint yourself with the admission criteria of the degree programme in question and with the instructions on how to make an appeal. After that, if necessary, contact the UAS or the university whose degree programme the appeal concerns.
