The admission of a student is conditional until Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences has checked the applicant’s school and other relevant certificates (copies and originals). Attach the required certificates and translations to your application by 1 December 2023 at 15:00 Finnish time (GMT/UTC+3).
You must attach the required certificates and translations to your application even if you enrol as absent for the first academic term. You will lose the study place if you do not provide required certificates by the deadlines given in the acceptance notification or if you have given inadequate or false information about your grades or other factors.
If you get selected from a waiting list, we will inform you when to submit the documents at the latest.
What copies of required certificates should I submit?
NB If you have already submitted copies of certificates and translations to Haaga-Helia during the application period (4.9.-14.9.2023), you do not need to submit them again.
Bachelor’s degrees
If the educational qualification used for applying (marked on the application form) is any of these, you need to attach a copy of your degree certificate to your application by 1 December 2023 at 15:00 Finnish time (GMT/UTC+3):
- A copy of Vocational Qualification completed in Finland before year 2017
- A copy of Further or Specialist Qualification completed in Finland before year 2018
- A copy of Matriculation examination completed in Finland before year 1990
- A copy of Finnish upper secondary school syllabus
- If the degree certificate is not in English, Finnish or Swedish, you must also attach a copy of translation made by an authorized translator.
- A copy of a certificate which proves that you are exempted from paying tuition fee. If you submitted the copy during the application period (4.9.-14.9.2023), you do not need to submit it again. Please note that your residence permit needs to be valid on 1 January 2024, for you to get exemption from paying tuition fee for the spring term.
IB graduates submit a Transcript of Grades by 27 December 2023 at 15:00 Finnish time (GMT/UTC+3).
EB graduates submit a final certificate by 27 December 2023 at 15:00 Finnish time (GMT/UTC+3).
Master’s degrees
All those selected must save in their application on by 1 December 2023 at 15:00 Finnish time (GMT/UTC+3), signed official work certificates certifying at least two years (24 months) of work experience acquired after completing the degree. If the original work certificate is not in Finnish, Swedish or English, then in addition to the work certificate, a translation of the work certificate into Finnish, Swedish or English by an official language translator is also required. Please note that the employment contract is not valid for verifying work experience.
If you have enrolled as absent, attach your school and work certificates to your application and submit the certificates proving the legal reason for your absence to Admission Services by 1 December 2023 at 15:00 Finnish time (GMT/UTC+3) by post or email (delivery address below).
