Printing

Every student is granted a possibility to print study material max 400 pages to a black-and-white printer or 100 pages to a color printer for free during a term. Every page printed to a color printer corresponds to four pages printed a to black-and-white printer. The table below shows different examples how to use your own printing balance. NB! These are only examples and the combination of black-and-white and color prints can also be anything else as far as you remember that printing to a color printer spends your balance four times more than printing to a black-and-white printer.

At the beginning of every term, every student is granted a new printing balance and the balance of the previous term is cleared.

You can check your own balance with a web browser on school’s workstation in the address http://print64-oppi:9191.

If the balance is zero, printing is prevented. If the balance is about to run out and you still should print study materials, you have to appeal to the Helpdesk for more balance. With your appeal there must be an explanation why your printing balance has not been sufficient. According to management group's decision, students' printing is controlled. Information about every print is saved to a database.

Printers

Black-and-white printers are available for students in all campus libraries. In Pasila, black-and-white printers are also available in rooms 3210, 3010 and 4010.

Color printers for students are on Pasila campus, in classrooms 4203, 4204 and 5010. Please note that printing to a color printer spends your balance four times more than printing to a black-and-white printer. If you are printing your thesis for instance, it is recommended that you print only the color pages to a color printer and the black-and-white pages to a black-and-white printer.

In Porvoo, colour printing can only be done through teachers or the Info desk in study-related work.

Other campuses do not have color printing possibilities.
