Response to student feedback 2022

Student feedback is collected in a variety of ways throughout the academic year. During 2022, feedback has been collected through group discussions at Master seminars, discussions with guidance counsellors and teachers, course feedback, the Master's student survey in the spring and the Graduand Feedback Questionnaire (AVOP). We have compiled a list of the best things and areas for improvement from 2022 and how we are responding to areas for improvement.

The best things in Master studies

According to feedback, the best things about the studies are the variety of the course offering, different implementation modes and varied course assignments. The student colleagues and peer learning have been found to be very useful. The teachers were also praised for being very up-to-date. According to feedback the freedom to make your own choices is also seen as a positive thing.

Development areas

Some respondents wanted more feedback from teachers and less group work. The length and starting date of the courses should be varied so that they are not so fixed in terms of periods. Some respondents also wanted more daytime courses, as many people are able to organise their work in order to attend daytime classes. Feedback highlighted the importance of ensuring a consistent quality of teaching. The use of multiple systems and communication were also mentioned as development areas.

Development measures

The number of systems cannot be influenced, but familiarity with them has been increased, for example through the Master students’ orientation platform in Moodle, which includes tutorial videos on how to use the systems. Efforts have been made to clarify the student pages and communication through new student websites. The quality of teaching and supervision of thesis is being improved, for example through the joint discussion meetings between teachers. The best way for students to have an impact on the courses is to respond to the course feedback, which is used as a basis for course development.

Warm thanks to all those who have given feedback in various ways!

Master Thesis

The Thesis work should be started at the beginning of the third semester i.e. second study year the latest. You can find support and information from student pages and on the Applied Design Research course.
