Haaga-Helia hosts an international conference of the European Sport Economics Association in August

Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences is responsible for organizing and hosting this years annual conference of the European Sport Economics Association (ESEA).

The conference, held annually in the last week of August, brings together influential experts, professors, and researchers in the field of sports economics from around the world.

Haaga-Helia's lecturer responsible for organizing the event, Seppo Suominen, is looking forward already. During the initial preparations alone, a total of 46 research papers were submitted to the conference.

— There are some really interesting topics ranging from equality in the sports world to the worst investment mistakes and determining the value of footballers over three different decades, he says.

The European Sport Economics Association is an international association for sports economics founded in 2010 in Germany. Its primary goal is to promote not only research in the field but also cooperation between researchers and those active in the world of sport.

The conference takes place from 22-26. August, 2022 at Haaga-Helia's Pasila campus. The first two days are reserved for doctoral student workshops and the second half for the public conference.
