Orientation Days 11. - 13.8., Digital Business Innovations, Daytime, Porvoo

The studies are kicked off on the Orientation Days on week 33 and attending is compulsory. The Orientation Days last for three days: Tue 11.8., Wed 12.8. and Thu 13.8. 

The programme includes 

• orientation to Digital Business innovations studies at Haaga-Helia UAS 
• meeting other students from your study group 
•  hearing the best practices from tutors 
• getting to know your own guidance counselling and teaching team
• getting familiar with the digital tools needed during studies 
• registration for the courses of the Autumn semester 

A guidance counselling session before and during the Orientation Days 

If you have previous higher education studies and / or work experience related to in-depth expertise in digital business operations, you can meet (on the campus or via Teams) with your guidance counsellor and discuss about the previous competence to advance your studies. Please send an e-mail to agree a guidance counselling session which will take place at the latest during the orientation week.

9.00  Welcome to Porvoo Campus, in the Entrance Hall of the Porvoo Campus

9.15 -10.30  Orientation programme, Rector´s Greetings and Welcome to your studies 

10.30-11.30  Tutors and Porvoo Campus tour and Student meal cards by Tutors

11.30 -12.15  Lunch

12.15-13.15  Student Guidance and wellbeing and communication (Teams-channel) in Haaga-Helia

13.30-15.00  Practical Matters: room 1421
Parking permits, Username and password, Microsoft Authenticator
Degree and attendance practicalities and good practise in learning assignments,
Guidance Counsellors Mari Austin and Ana Dimkar and Study Advisor Reija Ahmaoja

Wednesday 12 August, Porvoo Campus 2621

9.00-10.00  BBA Degree presentation by Degree Director Anna Hankimaa and Tutor Activities

10.00-11.30  The programme structure and recognition of prior learning and competence workshop, Guidance Counsellor Ana Dimkar

11.30-12.00  Lunch

12.00-13.30  Enrolment to autumn´s courses and Timetable machine, Guidance Counsellor Ana Dimkar    and student tutors

13.30-16.00  Welcome to Finland for International Students, International Specialist Vejay Nair (only international students, Finnish student’s day ends at 13.30)

9.00-11.00  Introduction to Digital Learning Environments – Course

11.00-12.00  Lunch with student tutors

12.00-12.30  Student unions presentation (Hepo & Helga) in the entrance hall

12.45->        Porvoo tour and Picnic with tutors
