Jari Laukia made his PhD research about the history of vocational education in Finland. He has published several publications about the vocational education and teacher training. He is also a member of editorial board of Journal of Professional and Vocational education.
Jari Laukia has long and versatile teaching experience in vocational education and university of applied sciences. Jari Laukia worked also as a principal in a vocational college. He has been a member in several committees and work groups organised by the ministry of education and culture in Finland. He was for example a member in a committee, which was preparing teacher qualification requirements in Finland.
During the last few years, Jari Laukia has worked to increase appreciation of vocational teacher education, developed teacher education in digitalisation and organised research activities in the area of vocational pedagogy.
