Business Service Solutions and Languages, the online entrance examination

Welcome to participate in the online entrance examination of the Degree Programme in Business Service Solutions and Languages.

The online entrance examination will be arranged in two parts:

First, there will be a written test on Wednesday 3 February 2021 from 10:00 to 10:45 Finnish time (CET +1). All the applicants are invited to participate in it. The written test consists of multiple choice questions based on the pre-reading material and a motivation question in essay form (more information and links to the pre-reading material below).
Second, all applicants passed from the written test will be invited to an online interview, which will be held between 18 and 19 February. You will be informed by email latest 16 February whether you have been accepted to the interview or not. You will also receive your interview time (max. 30 minutes) and instructions in that email.

PRACTICAL GUIDELINES AND PERSONAL ITEMS NEEDED FOR THE EXAMINATION AND IDENTIFICATION

Please note that you are responsible for making all the practical technical arrangements:

For the written test (first part) you need to have a computer with a good internet connection and a quiet room where you will complete the examination alone. The system supports following up-to-date browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge (NOT Internet Explorer). Please have your computer and internet connection ready at 9:45 before the test starts. The survey will open at 10:00.

For the interview (second part), you must have a computer with an internet access, a web camera and a microphone. Detailed instructions will be sent with the invitation to the interview.

Please note, that you must show a valid ID at the beginning of the interview. Every applicant must present a valid passport or an official Finnish ID card or a Finnish Driving License or a valid national Identity Card from your home country. Other types of IDs are not accepted. Please use the same document as you have used in the StudyInfo application form.

TIMETABLE FOR THE STUDENT SELECTION PROCESS

Friday 29 January: Haaga-Helia’s Admissions Services will send the invitations to the online exam, written part.

Wednesday 3 February at 10:00-10:45 (local time at Helsinki, Finland (CET+1)): Time for the online written test.

Thursday 11 February: Haaga-Helia’s Admission Services will send the invitations to the online interview.

Thursday 18 February – Friday 19 February: Online interviews

Friday 4 June: Haaga-Helia’s Admission Services will publish the final results on the Studyinfo portal

The test will be completed as follows:

On Wed 3 February at 09:55 Finnish time, you will receive a Webropol Survey link where you have the examination questions. If you do not find this email in your email inbox, please check also your junk mail folder.
You will have 45 minutes to answer these questions (from 10:00-10:45) and within this time you have to answer both sections in this written part. The survey opens at 10:00 and closes at 10:45 sharp.
Please note that you will not be able to submit your answers onto the Webropol Survey form after the time limit.

Multiple choice questions based on the pre-reading material (min 10,5 point. Max 30 points)
Motivation question in essay form (min 10,5 points, max 30 points)
Group Interview (45 min, min 10,5 points, max 30 points)

Please note that the applicant must pass both written entrance examination sections. If either of these is rejected (less than 10,5 points), the entrance examination will be rejected.

All applicants who has passed the written part will be invited to the online group interview. More detailed instructions will be sent with the interview invitation.

STUDENT SELECTION

Please note that you may accept only one study place during one academic term (1 August – 31 December 2021) in Universities of Applied Sciences and Universities in Finland. If you accept a study place, your other study options will be automatically cancelled (concerning joint and direct (separate) applications).

The results of the student selection will be published in www.studyinfo.fi in the My Studyinfo section on 4 June 2021 at the latest. NB. The final results may become available earlier. You must confirm your study place by 16 July 2021 at 15:00 Finnish time at the latest. You can confirm your study place via internet in Studyinfo through My Studyinfo using electronic identification, e.g. account codes of a Finnish bank, or by submitting a paper confirmation form to the Student Affairs Office of Haaga-Helia by the deadline.

Please, also note that the admission of a student is conditional until Haaga-Helia has checked the applicant's school and other relevant certificates. Haaga-Helia may withdraw the admission, if the applicant does not provide his/her certificates by the deadline or if he/she has given inadequate or false information.

CO-OPERATION WITH OTHER UNIVERSITIES OF APPLIED SCIENCES

The Haaga-Helia Degree Programme in Business Service Solutions and Languages organizes its own entrance exam. Scores received in the entrance examinations of other degree programmes in Finland or abroad are not transferable/accepted for this programme.
