Design Weekend in Kamppi to showcase meeting room of the future
HAAGA-HELIA is launching its World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 year by bringing an innovative meeting room into the midst of Kamppi shopping centre on February 3-4. The meeting room is part of one of HAAGA-HELIA’s World Design Capital projects, aiming to create premises for more inspiring and productive meetings. The development platform for the “Griini” meeting room resides in BEST WESTERN PLUS Hotel Haaga and can be booked by anyone.
“We are using meeting room Griini to test how meeting productivity can be improved by means of interior design and material choices. Design not only has the task of improving learning, interaction and motivation among participants, but also helping the meeting organiser to identify and achieve meeting objectives,” says project manager Janne Orava.
A pop-up version of meeting room Griini will be displayed to the public for the first time during HAAGA-HELIA’s opening event for WDC Helsinki 2012 at Kamppi shopping centre on Friday, February 3rd. Passers have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the finer details of the meeting room and also participate in a debate on behalf of better meetings. A pilot “pop-up” will be held a day earlier during HAAGA-HELIA’s stakeholder event at the Future Forum at Pasila campus.
Showcased in Kamppi will also be HAAGA-HELIA’s other WDC design projects, which aim to develop Helsinki, education and working life.
