The students must have passed either the level test or the level course prior to taking this course.
Upon successful completion of the course, the students
- are able to enhance their skills in written English
- are able to produce well structured, grammatically correct standard English related to ICT

- are able to express themselves orally more fluently on topics related to their studies, everyday and working life situations.

The course includes, the circumstances allowing, cooperation with foreign students.
Teaching and learning methods
The course is comprised of contact teaching (about 30hrs) and independent study (about 50 hrs). Contact hours focus on practicing to produce coherent ICT-related text and on enhancing the students’ spoken skills using different individual, pair and group exercises.
Independent study covers the completion of the given written tasks, which requires students to acquire information using various sources, reading articles, enhancing their vocabulary and deepening their competence regarding grammar. Furthermore, the students properly prepare themselves for the oral assignments.
The course can be completed by taking an exemption examination, the passing of which, however, requires very strong written and oral skills which must be indicated in an authentic and solid manner.
The assessment of one’s own learning 1 h.
The evening programme offers courses in a one-period intensive mode, whereas two-period regular courses are organized in the day programme.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
The course can be completed by taking an exemption examination the passing of which, however, requires very strong competence that must be indicated in a reliable manner e.g. with a proper portfolio. The student can participate to the exemption examination only once before the beginning of the first semester.
