Ph.D. Tarja Römer-Paakkanen works as a Principal Lecturer (entrepreneurship) at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (Helsinki, Finland) and holds a Title of Docent at Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics. She has supervised several doctoral students of which 16 have their Ph.D. in the field of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship education or family entrepreneurship. She has a long experience of creating and developing entrepreneurship education and training in university context. Before Haaga-Helia she worked as a researcher (Entrepreneurship) at University of Jyväskylä and as a researcher and professor (Consumer Economics) at University of Helsinki. Her research interests relate to entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship education and counselling, family business and business families, business transfers and family business successions. She has altogether some 80 publications on the field of entrepreneurship. Together with her husband, she has more than 30 year experience on running a family business.
