Application period
The period for applying is from January 9th to January 27th, 2012.

Selection process schedule
Non-eligible applicants will be informed of rejection on March 26th, 2012.
Others will be notified of the results on April 13th, 2012.

Confirmation of enrolment (student place)
Approved candidates will receive a student place confirmation form along with the letter of acceptance, sent by their teacher education institution. It is to be returned to the same institution by April 27th, 2012 or the candidate will lose his/her enrolment (student place).

The national joint online application for teacher education is available in Finnish at www.opekorkeahaku.fi. 

Qualification requirements in nutshell
In most cases a relevant university or polytechnic degree and a minimum of three years of work experience in a field corresponding to the degree.
In the field of social services and health either a relevant master's degree and three year working experience or a relevant polytechnic degree
and five year working experience corresponding to the degree.

Recognition of non-Finnish degree
Please note that
- if you have not taken your degree in the Nordic Countries
- or if the educational field you represent is Social Services and Health and you have not taken your degree in Finland
you have to attach a recognition of your degree made by the Finnish National Board of Education to your application.
