An evening of fun, food, and potential networking was organized by HAAGA-HELIA´s first year students of Degree Programme in Tourism on Tuesday, November 30, 2010. Finnish tourism professionals were invited to visit the brand new Porvoo Campus and meet with the students that may become their future employees and co-workers. Representatives from AirBaltic, Finnair, and SMT among others attended the event in order to get to know the new generation of travel industry.

The event started with the presentation of HAAGA-HELIA´s new Porvoo Campus, its great features for professional development, and the novel project based studying concept. The students and the guests got to know each other better during the dinner time and entertaining activities. Sarah Pidone and Maisa Korri gave a pleasant music performance. Anastasia Gurkina´s belly dancing was so compelling that even some of the participants stood up and danced. During the event, in a quiz both the students and the tourism professionals had to cooperate to find the right answers.

The main hall of the new Porvoo Campus was seen as the meeting point for travel and tourism industry professionals. Starting January 2011, the Campus will be home for HAAGA-HELIA and Laurea Universities of Applied Sciences’ units in Porvoo. The activities will involve the execution of mutual projects and learning together. The Campus will also be open daily to the public so that everyone will have the opportunity to enjoy a nice restaurant, a professional library, and many comfortable meeting points.
