Michael Hallbäck winner of the 2011 Hospitality Management Award
Haaga Hospitality Management Alumni have selected entrepreneur Michael Hallbäck as the winner of the 2011 Hospitality Management Award. Hallbäck graduated from Haaga in1984. The award will be presented to him at the Pore ry Student Association’s Annual Ball on 28 January 2012.
Michael Hallbäck has built an impressive international career in the hotel, restaurant and tourism industry. He maintains close ties to Haaga where he holds guest lectures for students and provides internship opportunities at his Swedish manor hotel, Friiberghs Herrgård. By his example, Michael has promoted entrepreneurship and the opportunities of an international career.
Haaga Hospitality Management Alumni is a society for the graduates of the hotel, restaurant and tourism fields of the HAAGA-HELIA University of Applied Sciences. Haaga has provided education in the field of hotel, restaurant and tourism management since 1969. The degree title Hospitality Management was introduced in 1982. Today, HAAGA-HELIA graduates include both Bachelors and Masters in Hospitality Management. In addition, twelve honorary Bachelors in Hospital Management have been nominated.
This year's Hospitality Management Award is the tenth in succession. While selecting the winners, Haaga Hospitality Management Alumni have be careful to acknowledge alumni from various different domains of the field. In the future, the annual Hospitality Management Award will be presented at the RestonomiFoorumi event.
