Impressive new premises for HAAGA-HELIA’s Porvoo Unit
HAAGA-HELIA’s Porvoo Unit moved into great new premises in January 2011 with the completion of the impressive Campus on Porvoo’s west bank. The new premises made it possible to move HAAGA-HELIA’s two units – previously located in different parts of Porvoo – under the same roof.
Modern use of space
Designed by Siren Architects Ltd and furnished by Sistem Ltd, Porvoo Campus represents new thinking and space utilisation. The building houses the staff and students of two universities of applied sciences, in close co-operation and partially shared premises, since the Campus is home not only to HAAGA-HELIA but also to the Porvoo Unit of Laurea University of Applied Sciences. Both the operations and the use of space are characterised by openness and encounters, which are intended to promote mutual learning and the sharing of know-how.
Co-learning and encounters
The operation of Porvoo Campus is characterised by co-learning and involvement in projects with a focus on working life. The Campus is also open to the public daily, giving people access to a nice restaurant, an extensive professional library and a number of comfortable meeting places.
Partner facilities
The operational concept of Porvoo Campus involves close co-operation with the business life. This is epitomised by the partner facilities co-operation with companies and organisations.
With the partner facilities co-operation, HAAGA-HELIA provides old and new partners with the chance to be involved in Porvoo Campus’s operations and gives them daily visibility in the learning and working spaces. The Campus facilities are named after the partners, and the partners are allowed to bring their own marketing material to the premises. For more information about partner facilities, please contact PR Officer Marika Alhonen.
