HAAGA-HELIA the first Finnish university of applied sciences to begin cooperation with the Fulbright Center
On 12 January 2012, HAAGA-HELIA and the Fulbright Center agreed to launch a joint grant program. HAAGA-HELIA is the first university of applied sciences to gain a Fulbright Center grant for lecturers.
The goal of the Fulbright Center is to promote international interaction between Finland and North America in the field of higher education. In Finland, HAAGA-HELIA and six other institutes of higher education are taking part in the Fulbright Program.
New grant brings top lecturers to HAAGA-HELIA
Through the Fulbright – HAAGA-HELIA Scholar Award Program, American lecturers can apply for a grant to teach at HAAGA-HELIA for a period of 3 to 10 months.
The application period for the HAAGA-HELIA grant starts in spring 2012 when the Council for International Exchange Of Scholars, which governs the Fulbright Program in the United States, announces the list of grants available.
Cooperation with American institutes is particularly important to HAAGA-HELIA, and the Fulbright Program opens a new, excellent opportunity to enhance and deepen this cooperation.
’This is an important step for HAAGA-HELIA and also supports our internationalisation strategy well,’ says president Ritva Laakso-Manninen.
