Admission

The HAAGA-HELIA University of Applied Sciences has student exchange and double degree agreements with several institutions around the world. If you are a student of one of our partner institutions and want to experience a semester or a year in Finland, you are welcome to apply for one of our exchange programmes. For further information, please contact the international office of your home institution, which selects the exchange and double degree students to HAAGA-HELIA.  

Language Requirements

Exchange students are expected to have a good command of spoken and written English in order to be able to follow the lectures and complete the course assignments, oral presentations and exams. Students selected to study at HAAGA-HELIA should have language skills at level B1 - B2 in understanding, speaking and writing. If student’s language skills are not in compliance with this level, the selection of courses in which the student can participate is very limited. HAAGA-HELIA does not require TOEFL or any other language test from exchange students coming to HAAGA-HELIA.

Exchange Student Application

Before you can apply for the student exchange programme at the HAAGA–HELIA University of Applied Sciences, your home university has to nominate you as an exchange student to HAAGA-HELIA and send HAAGA-HELIA a confirmation of the nomination by email. After you have been nominated, please follow the application procedure below.

The deadline for the spring semester 2010 was 1 November 2009. If you are late with your application, please ask your home university to contact HAAGA-HELIA International Services.

1. Fill in the HAAGA- HELIA electronic Exchange Student Application (the link for the form is available here one month before the deadline). Before starting to fill in the application, please note that you must finish completing the form at once (there is no option to save and continue later). You also need a printer. Please print each page directly after filling in them. 
2. Print out one copy of the application 
3. Ask your home university’s international office to stamp and sign your application form
4. Post the application form together with your transcript of records and your photo to:

Freemover applicants

 Applicants who are not students of HAAGA-HELIA's partner universities can apply to HAAGA-HELIA only through the HAAGA-HELIA Open University of Applied Sciences.
