Work placement

Work placement in relation to your studies

Work placement is a stage in your studies that allows you to put theory into practice, and to apply and test what you have learned in a real life context. Work placement also allows you to assess your skills and build a foundation for further development. Self-assessment is an important skill in working life, as it is the employees themselves who are essentially responsible for managing their work in today’s environment. Indeed, students are expected to set clear objectives with regard to their work placement, and also to report on this.

Adult students normally complete their work placement at their place of employment, in tasks agreed upon with the employer. A written report on this is submitted to the university.

More information on work placement is provided by the work placement coordinators and advisors in HAAGA-HELIA’s different units.
