CONNECT 2.0 Intercultural Learning Network for Europe

It takes more than mobility! In a globalized world, intercultural encounters have become commonplace. The ability to interact successfully and effectively with individuals and groups with various backgrounds is crucial. Studying and working abroad contributes to the development of intercultural competence, attention need to be paid to how to achieve the best learning outcomes.

CONNECT 2.0 is a cross-sectoral project, bringing together practitioners and experts from the university and youth sector to develop tools to strengthen the intercultural learning in mobility. It aims at creating an innovative intercultural learning scenario, consisting of an e-learning platform and curricula for pre-departure and re-entry orientation to support Erasmus+ participants - students and interns - learning in the higher education sector before, during and after their stay abroad.

CONNECT 2.0 aims at developing the following elements:

  • Preparation (face2face): introduction to Erasmus+ and the online platform, first intercultural learning session.
  • Support (online): before, after and in particular during the ERASMUS+ stay abroad; online lectures on intercultural topics in combination with exercises that allow for interaction and self-assessment.
  • Experience map (online): tool for the documentation of experiences gained abroad and for exchanging practical information.
  • Reflection (face2face): evaluation of and reflection on (intercultural) experiences, perspectives (knowledge transfer), networking, mentoring program.
  • Advisors´ training for staff members who mentor students and interns going abroad.
