They have either successfully completed the StartUp School Developing Entrepreneurial Mindset (WOR8HH022) course, or she/he has shown equivalent competences in some other way (including developing a business plan).

Learning objectives and assessment
Learning objectives are defined individually for each course, as student and coach will agree such objectives and targets together at the beginning of the course. They can be

  • advancing the business idea using relevant tools and approaches
  • identifying relevant stakeholders
  • acquiring knowledge of customer needs by planning the sources and gathering methods, and taking the first practical actions based on them
  • evaluating the validity of the business idea (or existing business) and deciding the next steps

Recognizing and validating prior learning (RPL)
Accreditation of prior learning is applied on the course according to separate instructions. Please contact

Working life connections
Student will develop her/his business idea or existing business further with the support of an experienced coach.

Internationality is visible through the assignments.

Student will create a personal/team plan for the coaching course with the help on the StartUp School’s entrepreneurial competence areas and discussions with the coach.

Student implements the plan and after completing all the coaching courses he/she will have covered the following areas: self-leadership, communication, offering development, numbers, legal issues, determination, risk management, team building and operations. Student starts networking with stakeholders, develops his/her business ideas into action, starts contacting potential customers, tests and pilots his/her business idea. Student with an existing business will develop it further.

Student can take 1 to 3 coaching courses.

Learning methods
Coaching course includes approximately five coaching sessions and student’s individual assignments between the sessions. Course implementation can be either individual or group coaching.
