Haaga-Helia is taking part in the 2020 Expo in The United Arab Emirates, the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East.

A World Expo is a large international exhibition designed to highlight achievements of nations, to promote their innovations and progress, as well as educate and entertain visitors. The six-month long World Expo will open in October 2020. The event is expected to attract 25 million visitors, 70 percent of whom will be from overseas. Located on a site between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the expo carries the theme “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”. 

Haaga-Helia is participating in the Finnish pavilion at Dubai Expo in order to build company´s brand value via students´ competences and involvement. Main commercial objective is to sell educational macro-level system development projects to MENA region and strengthen our international, national and regional networks as well as Haaga-Helia´s Alumni network.

In the growing market of international education, Haaga-Helia is looking for three market segments: B2G - Governmental and National Authorities, B2B - Universities, Colleges, Educational Institutes, Companies and B2C - International Students, Alumni. 

Supporting Finnish business in the international market

Finland will be among the 180 exhibiting countries. Already 28 businesses have signed up to exhibit in the Finnish pavilion, including Kone, Konecranes and Outotec. Participation in the World Expo offers Finnish businesses international visibility and new opportunities.

— The Finnish pavilion provides a platform for businesses that are looking to increase their visibility or make inroads into international markets,”says Severi Keinälä from Business Finland, who serves as Commissioner General for Finland at the Dubai Expo.

Haaga-Helia is participating in the Expo to promote education exports and international opportunities in the Middle East. The region’s education market is growing rapidly, and countries such as the UAE are investing heavily in education and skills.

Titled “Snow”, the Finnish pavilion is designed around the themes of nature, innovation and sustainability.
