Personal websites

Students and staff websites are located on server myy.haaga-helia.fi.

Websites can be accessed with browser in address:
http://myy.haaga-helia.fi/~username

• Students username is a+student number
• Staff username is 3 letters from lastname and 2 letters from first

Tilde character in address can be written as follows:

• Press AltGr and ~ (nothing on the screen yet)
• Press space (now tilde appears on screen)

Quick guide for making own pages to Myy-server

• Make your page with preferred html-editor. (e.g. Frontpage or Textpad)
• Save file in public_html folder with name index.html (You can do this easily with Helia workstations by saving to M-drive or remotely from home)
• Check your pages for example with Internet Explorer in address http://myy.haaga-helia.fi/~username (check guide above)

File rights in public_html folder

All files saved in public_html folder get such rights by default that they can be accessed from the web.

If you get notification saying: " 403 Forbidden You don't have permission to access /~a1234567 on this server .". This means that there isn't sufficient right for that folder or file.

You can change rights with graphical WinSCP-application

• Connect to Myy with WinSCP-application
• Click on file with right mouse button and choose Properties
• Give the same rights to file that picture has below
