Enrolment

 

We recommend that you earn a maximum of 30 credits during a term, which is approximately a 50 hour workload per week.

From the spring semester 2012 on HAAGA-HELIA offers open path studies as 12 cr module per semester.The tuition fee is 120 euro. A student can study more than 12 cr per semester at no extra charge. A receipt of the payment has to be presented at the students affairs office/Pasila campus reception in the beginning of every semester.

 

New students

 

Before you can enrol to any courses, you have to fill in the Enrolment form and pay the tuition fee.  After that visit the Student Affairs Office (Haaga, Malmi, Vallila, Porvoo or Info Counter at Pasila), where you have to prove your identity, show the receipt of the tuition fee and fill in the personal information form. You will then be given your student number, the password to our student administration system, and other useful information. At the same time you will be asked to abide by HAAGA-HELIA rules of use.

All new students are adviced to check the course selection with the open university academic adviser and check the number of enrolments on the chosen courses with the student affairs office, already before paying the tuition fee always when starting the studies in the middle of a semester.

If you have previous open path studies at HAAGA-HELIA, we shall activate your student number and the needed password as soon as you have shown the receipt of the payment of the tuition fee personally at any Student Affairs Office or mailed it. At the same time you will receive information on how you can enrol for open path courses.

 

Enrolment for courses through WinhaWille

 

You can enrol for courses by using WinhaWille. Enrolment for the special Open UAS courses and for the degree programme courses  starts on 16 December 2011. Enrolment will be possible until the beginning of the course. You can also follow your enrolment status in the system, e.g. how many persons have enrolled to the course in question.

Course attendance

 

You have to be present for the first class. This is how you guarantee your participation in the course. During that first meeting, you will also get information on all course details, e.g. the course contents, requirements and assignments.

Re-examinations

 

In case you fail an examination, you can take a re-examination twice without any extra charge. You will be informed about these dates and other relevant details when the course starts.

Transcript of records

 

Teachers have three weeks to issue grades to the participants. After that you can see your grade in WinhaWille or visit any Student Affairs Office or Info Counter at Pasila and get your personal transcript of records.
