Open University of Applied Sciences

Please note! Spring semester's courses have already started. Autumn semester starts 23.8.2010.

Open University of Applied Sciences courses are intended for adults permanently living in Finland.

What is the HAAGA-HELIA Open University of Applied Sciences?

Studies at the HAAGA-HELIA Open University of Applied Sciences are for you, if

  • you intend to apply to a HAAGA-HELIA degree programme,
  • you wish to deepen or update your expertise,
  • you wish to gain expertise in new areas, or
  • you want to study in a modern and inspiring learning environment.

Please note that applicants must have a residence permit for Finland in order to be eligible for admission to the Open University of Applied Sciences. Such a permit is not granted solely based on studies at the Open University.

Open University courses meet HAAGA-HELIA’s degree regulations and a transcript of records is issued for courses completed. All courses will be counted as studies completed for a HAAGA-HELIA degree if the student is later admitted to a degree programme. Students can also transfer credits to some other university of applied sciences, at least on part of free-choice studies. Students must, however, first discuss the eligibility of such credit transfer with the student counsellor of their own university.

You can choose courses from the Open University’s special offering and also take courses that belong to the curriculum of one of its degree programmes.
